Welcome to the January 2023 release of Falcon. There are many updates in this major version that we hope you'll like, some of the key highlights include:
Other improvements and bugs fixed in this release:
As you already know, in the last major version we released a new vector skin (the Windows 11-inspired WXI). In this release, we're adding four new palettes to this theme:
As their names imply, these four palettes are designed to replicate the appearance of Microsoft’s newest Office products.
This theme mimics the appearance of Windows 11 and is designed for showing effective data presentation/communication. We highly recommend using it, instead of the good-old themes.
Idea: Try to combine this skin with the compact mode enabled ;)
Details windows have been redesigned, showing more space between regions and a fresh new looking. Tabs moved from bottom to left, showing more vertical space and icons instead of text. When the current item has notifications, these icons change their color to red and a flyout with a hint is displayed in the top of the window (by default, you can change this behavior in preferences).
Finally, a feature highly demanded by users; now details windows remember last tab when closing and opening again. :)
This feature can be changed in preferences.
Yet another very demanded feature. Now every detail windows show the icon type in the tab caption, along with the tab text.
There's a new region in the asset details general section that shows a list of statistics of the current asset. From min / max historical prices to positive months, performance, max drawdown, volatility, shape ratio, rotation index or TER.
Also in asset details window there's a new tab called prices showing prices in the selected period and a couple of charts (price and amount evolution).
List of prices of an asset. You can enable the toggle for highlighting dates with explicit prices. That is, dates where the price of the asset has been set.
Price and Amount charts sample. User can add a couple of lines showing max and min values.
New window for importing prices to the current asset.
Allows to select an Excel book that contains 3 columns and if it's possible (some verifications are performed before) the prices will be imported to the current asset. No matter if there are closed periods on these dates. That's great for importing old historical prices to indexes and similar.
This preview feature affects only to Fund Management license owners. Now you can create Factsheets for your CIS and Fund Assets. In the details window of these assets, you will find a new tab called FACTSHEETS. In this new tab, you can create new Factsheets and see a list with the previous ones.
Factsheet management will allow you to define Factsheet templates and then, create Factsheets for the selected assets based on these templates.
In user preferences, now it's possible to enable or disable the default tab for each detail window.
In user preferences, now it's possible to enable or disable the flyout for showing alerts.
A new tab has been added to server health (only visible to sysadmins). This tab allows seeing a more granular detailed view of the space allocated by each table in the selected database. Apart from the space in SQL tables also computes the space allocated in the file system through the SQL Server FileStream feature, showing a global vision of all the space occupied by Falcon databases.
Notification message has been improved showing information about the asset and strategy as well as the new weight value, also user information has been added.
Now you can expand and compress rows in movements list using the keys + and - (plus and minus).
Last but certainly not least, a big Thank You for your contributions to Falcon :)
